Why Generations Forward?
We bring together education, creativity and community connection.
Our approach is centred on shared participation. We don't simply create activities for people to attend — we create opportunities for people to experience them together.
A STEM project can become an opportunity for a parent and child to work together.
An art activity can become a way for family members to communicate and create something together.
A community project can bring people of different ages and backgrounds together around a shared goal.
We want people to leave our activities having learned something new, created something they are proud of and connected with the people around them.
-
Learn Together. Create Together. Connect Together.
Our vision is to help create stronger, more inclusive and connected communities where people of all ages feel valued, supported and able to participate.
We want children and young people to have opportunities to develop curiosity, confidence and practical skills.
We want families to have opportunities to spend meaningful time together.
We want older adults to remain socially connected and able to share their knowledge, skills and experiences.
And we want people from different backgrounds and with different needs to feel that there is a place for them within their community.
-
Our mission is to create meaningful opportunities that bring people together through learning, creativity, wellbeing and shared experiences.
Through our programmes, we aim to:
Increase access to educational and creative opportunities
Encourage curiosity and lifelong learning
Develop confidence and practical skills
Strengthen family relationships
Encourage connections between generations
Support social participation and wellbeing
Celebrate culture, creativity and shared experiences
Encourage environmental awareness
Create inclusive opportunities for people with different needs and backgrounds
Our work is guided by the belief that strong communities grow when people have opportunities to participate, contribute and connect.
-
We believe that everyone should have opportunities to learn, participate and feel connected to their community.
For some people, opportunities to take part in educational, creative or social activities can be limited by cost, accessibility, confidence, location or other barriers.
We want to help create more accessible opportunities within local communities.
Generations Forward CIC develops activities that are welcoming, practical and engaging, with a particular focus on creating opportunities for people to learn and participate together.
-
Our team brings three years of experience delivering educational and community-focused activities, including STEM and hands-on learning opportunities.
We understand the importance of creating activities that are engaging, well-structured and accessible, while giving participants opportunities to develop practical skills, confidence and creativity.
As we grow, we aim to build relationships with more schools, community organisations and local partners across Kent.
-
Our programmes bring together areas that are often treated separately:
Education. Creativity. Family. Community.
We believe these can work together to create much more meaningful experiences.
A STEM project can become an opportunity for a parent and child to work together.
An art activity can become a way for family members to communicate and create something together.
A community project can bring people of different ages and backgrounds together around a shared goal.
Our aim is to create activities where participation itself becomes a way of building relationships.
